Intended Use

The beta-Lactams & tetracyclines combo test kit is a lateral flow assay that determines a qualitative level for the presence of both β-lactam and tetracycline antibiotic residues in raw cow’s milk. This test is designed for rapid field use or daily control in laboratories.

Test Procedure

Note: READ COMPLETELY BEFORE USE! All reagents and kit components must be reach room temperature (20-25˚C) before use.

1. Remove the cover of the tube and take appropriate number of test strip and microwells; place the microwells in a microwell holder and immediately cover the tube. Re-store the remaining components at 2-8˚C. 

2. Shake the milk vigorously to ensure sample homogeneity. 

3. Using a single channel pipette (Optionally, use a disposable pipette), add 200µL of milk sample (room temperature) to each microwell. Dissolve the coating conjugate in the microwell by pipetting the content up and down 5 to 6 times.

4. Incubate the sample for 2 minutes at room temperature (20-25˚C) and then put one test strip into one well.

5. Allow the test strip to develop color for 5 minutes at room temperature (20-25˚C).

6。 Remove the absorbent pad and interpret test results within one minute。

Interpretation of the Results

A color line always appears in the upper section of the test strip to indicate that the test strip is working properly。 This line is the Control Line (C)。 Two lines in the lower section of the test strip indicate the test results for β-lactamsand tetracyclines respectively。 These two lines are the Test Lines。

 

Negative Sample (-):The colour of test line (T1) is darker than or the same as control line (C) indicates the sample contains tetracyclines less than the limit of detection; The colour of test line (T2) is darker than or the same as control line (C) indicates the sample contains β-lactams less than the limit of detection. 

Positive Sample (+): The colour of test line (T1) is lighter than control line (C) or no colour appears in T1 line zone, this indicates the sample contains tetracyclines greater than or equal to the limit of detection; the colour of test line (T2) is lighter than control line (C) or no colour appears in T2 line zone, this indicates the sample contains β-lactams greater than or equal to the limit of detection.

Invalid results:

If there is no line in control zone, the test is invalid and the sample should be re-tested by using a valid test strip.
